Festival of Original Theatre – FOOT 2018

The Festival of Original Theatre (FOOT) is the annual conference held by the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. The theme of FOOT changes every year, according to the research interests of the new artistic director of the conference, but it’s main goal is to provide graduate students and the performing arts community  an academic outlet to showcase, critique,  review, perform, discuss, and analyze the changing world of drama, theatre and performance.

Join us as we explore new approaches to creating a barrier-free culture.

The festival will feature workshops, performances, working groups and paper presentations aimed at fostering conversations, co-creations and relationship-building among people with all kinds of abilities. Academics, artists and members of the U of T and Toronto communities are welcome to work and learn together.

Stephen Lytton is a member of the Nicomen Indian Band within the Nlaka’pamux First Nation. An accomplished actor, writer and presenter, Stephen has presented both in western and eastern Canada to various groups regarding his personal experiences in residential school as an Aboriginal person living with a disability. He lives with cerebral palsy.

Stephen currently serves as Board President for the British Columbia Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (BCANDS), a provincial Aboriginal health and disability organization which has received both provincial and national recognition for its work within the Aboriginal health and disability sectors.
